How many times have you gone out to dinner with a bunch of friends, then the bill comes and you have that ONE friend that ordered a huge meal with wine and appetizers and they add up their total to $28.95 and then they throw in $30.00. Somehow it makes sense to them that $1.05 is enough for tax and tip. Yeah – maybe in Europe… but not here in the good ol’ US of A.
I dread that inevitable ending when the bill comes and I’m caught holding it – because I always end up paying more than my share. I have been out countless times when friends have tried to skimp out on the bill and lemme tell ya – it drives me NUTS!
So… What do I always do when I need to add some organization to my life? I turn to my trusty iPhone, of course! The “Separate Checks” app made by TightApps has been my savior in these aggravating situations.
Its really quite simple. In a nutshell, you put in everything that was ordered with prices, assign each item to a person, tell the app how to split each item (in the event of sharing), put in your tax and tip, and BAM – you’re done. It’s that easy. You can even have the app round up to make things easy so there isn’t any pesky change falling out of that check presenter.
I must admit, the app does take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be splitting your check like a pro (and not getting screwed anymore) !!
Here is a quick video demonstrating how to use it:

Get it!! This is, by far, one of my favorite apps. It will be worth the 99 cents… (and you know I prefer free) I promise!
